Economy Minister says Russia to maintain energy exports

MOSCOW, Oct 17 (PRIME) -- Russia will maintain its supply volumes and the role of a strategic energy supplier even if new sanctions are imposed, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said on Monday during a session of the budget committee of the parliament’s lower chamber State Duma.

“Russia will be able to maintain its supply volumes and the role of a strategic supplier even if new sanctions are imposed,” he said.

“We account for 14% of the world's oil production, 11% of the world exports. If necessary we will redirect exports to the eastern countries. In general, it is impossible to balance the world markets without Russia.”
